birthday presents

I will be the first to admit that my girls are pretty spoiled but really only on birthdays do they get to be spoiled on their own. I love that they have a day all of their own and that they get to do almost everything they want. This year we had some extra activities on Saturday because of the dance recital but Keara is only 4. Since she could not decide what she wanted for her birthday I really had to rely on erinn for help and i think she pegged her sis well.
Erinn got Keara a barbie car, Craig and I supplied her with some new skirts, and aunt Cassie scored big with a pink t-ball bat, mitt, and soft ball set.

Keara's birthday

Wow 4 years old is so big. I asked Keara what she wanted for her birthday and like the grown-up she is replied "I don't know mom, I'll think about it."
Then I asked her what she would like to eat on her special day, and this is how i know that we are sooo big she said
" ummmm bacados."
" Avocados? " I reply.
"YES!" comes the answer.
"So what would you like avocados on? Chicken, hamburgers, tacos, quesadillas?"
"ummmm hamburgers."
"ok " i said "What else would you like, What kind of cake and ice cream"
"Bacaodo" comes the reply.
And that was that no one could get the idea out of her head once in there. What can i say the child likes avocados so out i sent craig on the internet to find recipies and boy did that boy deliver. Now as a parent i did draw the line at avocado cake but we did relent on the ice cream and frosting. My little big girl couldn't have been more excited we made the ice cream rolling it on the floor the old fashioned way and of course that was super fun to watch. (i'm just glad that it isn't really my floor)
Keara is my helper at all times normally but because this was her day she wanted to help with everything right down to scooping the avocados out of the skin, and sealing the cans for the ice cream. Erinn while supportive kept asking us if we really had to put avocados in everything, because the what would she eat. It was like a green eggs and ham day only with avocado smeared on it.

Keara seemed to forget all her moves so the only pictures I got were of here standing still. Oh well still so cute.

Dance recital

The dance recital for the girls was last weekend. Two days of sparkle and shine, of glitter and way too much product in hair. This was so much fun it brought back memories of dance for me and recurring night mares for Craig of pink everything. The recital kind of over shadowed just about everything else for the weekend i.e. Keara's birthday and fathers day. Keara told us after the show on Saturday that her flowers could actually be her birthday present, I just wish I would have known that earlier in the week.

End of school year

This school year has come to an end and man am i pumped about it. Erinn is very excited about starting the third grade next year partly because she gets to move to the big kid school. (about 100 feet away) Keara also gets to move to the big kid side of the preschool (yeah) so next year will be more like preschool and less like day care. On the last day of school it was snowing here we got about 3-4 inches not much but they had to move graduation in doors. I've put some pics of Erinns end of school program and the last day of school on this post, although they were not technically on the same day.
